In a candid conversation with Esquire magazine that then generated widespread discussion, Mackie discussed feeling overlooked in his career. The outspoken actor, speaking out, mentioned having “at least 4” performances worth Oscar consideration, delivering a strong statement that “Captain America is my Oscar.” Fans wasted no time picking sides and took over X with their fiery opinions. 

Anthony Mackie’s remarks are especially important because they were made only weeks before his much-awaited Brave New World premiere as the MCU’s main character. His path has been everything from typical up to this point.
