Even Duolingo is dunking on the Mavericks for the Luka Doncic trade

Everyone in the NBA world, and really the sports world writ large, is still trying to come to terms with the stunning trade of Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. In a deal that was announced after midnight on the East Coast on Saturday night, the Dallas Mavericks sent Doncic to the Lakers as part of a three-team trade, with the Mavericks acquiring Anthony Davis as part of the deal.

Reaction around the sports world — once it was confirmed that ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania had not been hacked and his reporting was legitimate — was swift, with many wondering why in the world Dallas would make such a deal. Our own Ricky O’Donnell offered his grades on the trade, giving the Mavericks a D+ for the deal.
