Spirit 2, Red Stars 0
Aubrey Kingsbury needed to make just two saves for a clean sheet, lifting host Washington to a win over Chicago.
Heather Stainbrook and Makenna Morris each tallied a goal as the Spirit (17-6-2, 53 points) earned their fifth victory in seven matches.
Red Stars goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher faced constant pressure all night, with Washington putting 12 shots on target. Naeher turned away 10, but the two that got by her were enough to give Chicago (10-13-2, 32 points) its third loss in four matches.
