I’m Ready to Talk 2025 Trends—Here’s What Style Experts Recommend Buying

This year was one for the styling books. Those who tend to favor approachable trends likely were intrigued by school prep or bohemian chic. On the flip side, those who lean more experimental wore sheer fabrics, western-inspired looks, or drew inspiration from that iconic “brat” green colorway. It’s safe to say there was no shortage of fashion lanes one could drive down, and 2025 is looking to be the same. Luckily, Stitch Fix’s annual Style Forecast is here just in time for the new year. This report combines insights from millions of clients, expert stylists, and in-house trend forecasters, making it easy to stay ahead of the curve. Its team of experts is ready to share specific products, outfit ideas, and styling recommendations for 2025’s top-predicted trends. Inspired by the eponymous flower, Stitch Fix introduces the must-have color of the year: Wisteria! I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t have a lot of purple in my existing collection. But that’s why I’m heading straight to Stitch Fix’s team of stylists to get expert recommendations on how to incorporate it into my wardrobe. One of its in-house stylists, Michelle, shares, “Wisteria evokes an individuality that feels both luxurious and intriguing. Make a statement with a head-to-toe look or add [it] as a pop of color.” If you’re like me and tend to stick to the neutrals, start with the knit sweater or sporty sneakers below and build your outfit from there.

Western-inspired collections popped up throughout 2024, and I’m pleased that this style will continue into the new year. Lorraine, who has been a Stitch Fix stylist since 2017, reports: “Nostalgic western prints and fabrics blend with modern silhouettes for sophisticated style.” How, you may ask? By pairing cowboy boots with flowing dresses, styling denim button-downs with matching jeans, and incorporating flannel fabrics for comfort and style.

Next up: We’re elevating our date-night looks. This one is all about wearing what makes you confident, and according to Stitch Fix stylist Landess, prioritizing the pieces that channel that It-Girl vibe. In order to lean into that energy, she likes to “spice things up with pops of zebra, snake, and leopard [print].” Searches for leopard print on Stitch Fix have jumped 400% from June to September, so expect to see this bold style everywhere in 2025.

The last predicted trend of the year is all about relaxed tailoring and a casual, yet cool approach to dressing. Stitch Fix stylist Missy encourages us to lean into the slouchy look for an effortlessly chic ensemble. The easiest way to do this is by reaching for button-down tops, wide-leg jeans, and cool sneakers that will keep things comfortable. Stitch Fix also shares its 1-2-1 Rule to balance volume with structure: One part fitted, two parts slouchy, and one part structured. It’s the perfect way to dress for this aesthetic.
