This year, I approached fall shopping with a different strategy than usual. Instead of ordering straight from the new-arrivals pages mid-July, I decided to wait it out to see what my fellow editors and the New York fashion set were actually styling for the season. Trends are famously predicted months in advance, and no one does a better job of doing so than my colleagues.
