Walking away with a statue or not, these nominees for the 2026 Oscars are already setting records.
The Academy Awards has been home to many historic milestones in the film industry. True to its tradition, nods for the ceremony—which were announced by Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman on Jan. 21—are filled with impressive accolades across all 24 categories, and Sinners certainly led the pack this season.
Indeed, the Ryan Coogler-directed gem earned a total of 16 nods, making it the most-nominated movie in Oscars history. This record was previously held by 1950’s All About Eve, 1997’s Titanic and 2016’s La La Land, which all received 14 nominations during their respective award season.
