Adam Lippes Fall 2026: On the Road

Adam Lippes is getting ready to hit the road.

It’s only fitting that, for the designer’s fall 2026 collection, he continued looking at cars for inspiration as the business gears up for international expansion in both the U.K. and Japan.

“I touch very softly on inspiration. Mostly, what it does for me is drive color and texture, and sometimes it helps shape a mood board,” Lippes said. “You’ll see the bright reds and blues that came through, all of which are from vintage Ferraris. There’s a lot of slick fabrics in the collection that came off of materials used in car dashboards and linings.”

The references never felt too on-the-nose, but rather Lippes doing what he does best. “We’re really elevating the brand on all levels,” he said, noting his nascent handbag category is the only U.S. brand manufactured in France. In the spirit of his take on haute sportswear, there was an emphasis on pure silks and double-faced cashmere.

Even on the more technical side, outerwear rendered in a water-resistant silk faille gave the more practical pieces a luxe touch. In that vein, Lippes played with python, like a white top and skirt that mimicked a snakeskin pattern, which took over a year to perfect the weave on. Among the more special pieces, a top and a look that gave a peppered, snake-like effect with hand-painted sequins. “No two sequins are the same color,” he said. “At least in the U.S., our more elevated and less safe pieces sell better for us.”
