Steve Carell Reveals What He Didn’t Like About ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’ At First

Steve Carell is looking back on one of his past movies.

The 63-year-old actor starred in the 2011 rom-com Crazy, Stupid, Love as Cal Weaver, alongside a star-studded cast, including Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore, Marisa Tomei, Kevin Bacon and more.

With the film’s 15th anniversary coming up this summer, Steve dropped a truth bomb of what he “never liked” about it at the recent premiere of his new TV series Rooster.

“I never liked that title,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I do now, but when Dan Fogelman wrote it, he didn’t title it. He didn’t call it anything. It was Untitled Dan Fogelman Project.”

“Everybody had an idea as to what the title should be, and no one could come up with one,” he continued. “Finally, Warner Bros. just said, ‘We’re calling it Crazy, Stupid, Love.’ I’m like, ‘Alright.’”

Now that the movie went on to be a hit, Steve says the title wasn’t that necessary for it’s success.

“I’m convinced that if it’s good and people like it, people will like the title,” he said. “Doesn’t even matter what you call it.”
