Four months after Kandi Burruss went public with one of reality television’s most talked-about splits, the chapter is officially closing in a courtroom. Burruss and her estranged husband, Todd Tucker, informed the Fulton County Superior Court on March 11 that they had reached a full and final divorce settlement, following months of bitter back and forth both legally and publicly.

The road to this settlement was anything but smooth. What began as a relatively measured public announcement in November 2025 quickly escalated into a contested custody dispute, competing legal claims about who was actually raising the children, and a separate six-figure restaurant lawsuit sitting uncomfortably in the background.

The court has now ordered Burruss and Tucker to submit their final settlement paperwork covering child support and a formal parenting plan by the following week. The finer details of the agreement remain sealed from public view, but the broad outlines of how things unravelled are very much on the record.

Burruss and Tucker married in April 2014 after meeting on the set of RHOA’s fourth season in 2011. Together, they built something that looked, from the outside, like a genuine partnership: two children, multiple businesses, spinoff television projects, and a decade of shared public life. The cracks, it turns out, had been forming well before anything became official.

When Burruss appeared on Watch What Happens Live in February 2026, she told Andy Cohen the decision crystallized in July 2025. “In July was when I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. No, I can’t do this no more,’” she said. Cohen pressed for specifics, and she acknowledged there was a particular incident, but kept the details firmly private. “I’m not talking about it on Watch What Happens.” she said, laughing. She had made her statement to People back in November with characteristic composure. In that statement, she said her focus remained on “protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”

The Custody Battle That Complicated Everything

What made this divorce messier than either party likely intended was the custody dispute. Burruss initially filed for joint custody of their children, Ace, 10, and Blaze, 6. Tucker then filed for primary custody, arguing that Burruss had been spending significant time working in New York while he remained in Georgia caring for the children. Burruss pushed back, disputing that account and pointing out that Tucker had been living rent-free in a guest house on her property, having been moved out of the main residence.

The two competing versions of the same household told the story of a split that had become genuinely adversarial beneath the surface, even as both continued to show up to their son’s basketball games and present a united front for the children. There were also reports that Tucker was contesting their prenuptial agreement, something Burruss quickly shot down on WWHL, clarifying that it was their legal teams, not Tucker personally, who had raised the possibility of contesting it as a negotiating position.

Despite the legal turbulence, Burruss has been consistent about one thing throughout: her children are not going to be collateral damage. “Our ultimate goal is to make sure that all of our kids are happy and that they don’t feel the brunt of our drama,” she told Cohen on WWHL. She has also said she has “no regrets” about the marriage, crediting it with giving her two children she loves, and has described her role in the Broadway show “& Juliet” as the best therapy she could have asked for during this period.

The settlement arrives with one more legal matter still in the air. Separately from the divorce proceedings, their former restaurant Blaze Steak and Seafood’s parent company was ordered to pay their landlord $140,509 to resolve a dispute over unpaid rent and remediation costs, closing out a legal battle that had been running for over a year. Burruss has openly said she regrets going into business with Tucker, given where things ended up, telling a podcast audience that she simply wants to return to her creative space. With the divorce now settled and the restaurant litigation behind them, that space may finally be within reach.
