Several clips from the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer have been released online ahead of the footage’s launch, scheduled for today. One of these seems to include a Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 spoiler. It relates to Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and his time as Mayor of New York City, established in the previous season.

A fan shared a clip from the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer online. In it, the webslinger receives the key to New York City from a woman. Giving the key is typically the duty of the mayor, who, as of Daredevil: Born Again’s events, is Wilson Fisk.
However, since it is another person giving Spidey the key and not Fisk, it indicates that the latter’s time as mayor will likely conclude by the end of Born Again Season 2. Whether this will be via impeachment or voluntary resignation remains to be seen.
Some fans have also speculated that the mayor in Brand New Day is Fisk’s mayoral assistant and political advisor, Sheila Rivera (Zabryna Guevara).
While her appearance in the film is officially unconfirmed, it is possible. Sana Amanat, one of Born Again’s executive producers, shared in a recent interview with Black Girl Nerds that the events of Season 2 occur before Brand New Day and that both will have “some shared characters.” However, she declined to reveal who they were.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premieres on Disney+ on March 24. Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is on track for a theatrical release on July 31. Both are part of the MCU’s Phase Six.
The former will see Daredevil building a resistance group to combat Fisk and his anti-vigilante task force. On the other hand, the latter will find Spider-Man investigating a series of crimes that force him to confront the consequences of his past.
Dario Scardapane co-created Born Again with Matt Corman and Chris Ord. Meanwhile, Destin Daniel Cretton directed Brand New Day from Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers’ script.
