Crimson Desert has an absolutely massive world packed full of puzzles, difficult bosses, and seemingly infinite possibilities. Players who are interested in causing a little mischief will want to take note of the consequences of crime in the game, but as you’re getting acquainted with the world, it may not be immediately obvious how to remove those pesky fines and bounties on your head.

How To Remove Fines And Bounties

To remove fines and bounties, players need to locate the main church in any region and go to the Confessional vendor inside. Here, you can buy a Writ of Absolution to remove whatever fines have accrued. You can pay off fines and bounties from other regions outside the one you’re in, and it will cost you the same amount as whatever fee you’ve built up.

For example, players can visit the Church of Hernand in the southeast corner of Hernand proper and pay off any outstanding fees by speaking with the deacon inside and paying for a Writ of Absolution. Each region has a designated Confessional you can visit, and you’ll want to pay off any fees before they get too cumbersome, otherwise you risk being chased down by guards.

If you do end up getting caught, however, you’ll be thrown in jail and serve a sentence based on the severity of your crimes. The bounty will also be removed from your head without having to fork out any money, though.

How Crime Works In Crimson Desert

While there are a ton of different things to do in Crimson Desert, the game allows players to commit crimes of all sorts, from petty theft to animal abuse all the way up to straight-up murder. However, committing these crimes comes with consequences in the form of fines and bounties.

When you commit a crime in Crimson Desert, you’ll have a brief window to escape the area before anyone sees you or reports you to the authorities, but if you do get caught, you’ll get slapped with a fine/bounty that will be higher depending on the severity of the crime itself. Your map will be shaded in a new color and your fines/bounties will stay on your head until you pay them off or get arrested.

Fines and bounties are specific to the region you’re in, and the higher the bounty cost, the more difficult time you’re going to have with the local authorities. Guards will be on high alert and chase you down if you aren’t careful and your bounty is high enough, so if you’re commited to a life of crime, be prepared for some unfriendly encounters with the local guard in Crimson Desert.
