England has confirmed that Newcastle winger Harvey Barnes and Arsenal defender Ben White have been added to its squad for its pre-World Cup friendly matches against Uruguay and Japan later this week.
Barnes and White come into the squad in place of Arsenal attacker Eberechi Eze and Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah, both of whom miss out with injury.
Barnes has a single England cap, earned in October 2020, while White has four caps to his name. White famously informed former England manager Gareth Southgate that he did not wish to be called up for national duty, and left the FIFA World Cup 2022 early for personal reasons.
