Brie Larson and Anya Taylor-Joy favored whimsical designs by Rodarte and Dior for the Kyoto premiere of their new animated film “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” on Saturday night.
Taylor-Joy opted for a custom variation on a Dior design from the French luxury fashion house’s spring 2026 couture collection. The strapless minidress featured a rounded neckline with a low back and a cone skirt. Embellished with allover white sequins, the custom dress featured an added nod to Japan with cherry blossoms scattered throughout the frock.

The actress, who serves as an ambassador for Dior, paired the custom dress with springtime strappy Jimmy Choo sandal heels. She accessorized the look with the Bird on a Rock Wings pavé necklace courtesy of Tiffany & Co., for which Taylor-Joy also serves as an ambassador and appeared in the 2025 holiday campaign.
As for glam, the voice of Princess Peach opted to keep her blond hair worn down with a middle part and subtle waves. Her makeup highlights included bold brows and a soft lip. Stylist Ryan Hastings curated Taylor-Joy’s look.

Brie Larson channeled her own variation on whimsy with a teal silk crepe bias Rodarte dress. The frock featured some vintage inspiration with a V-shaped neckline and ruched short sleeves with slightly exaggerated shoulders.
Along with the dress, the “Room” Oscar winner wore a pair of metallic silver pumps by Gianvito Rossi, along with jewelry pieces by Logan Hollowell, Grown Brilliance and Anita Ko. Grown Brilliance provided the star broach at the center of the Rodarte dress’ neckline, while Logan Hollowell was responsible for Larson’s rings and Ko designed the actress’ earrings.
