“The only man who is not afraid to die is the one who thinks he’s dead already.” Capelight Pics revealed an official trailer for The Gentleman, a vengeance thriller from Mexican filmmaker Gabriel Beristain. This movie is actually a Mexico + Spain project, originally under the title Ya No Quedan Junglas, since it’s also based off of a novel in Spanish by Carlos Augusto Casas. An elderly gentleman, haunted by a brutal murder, embarks on a quest for vengeance, navigating a complex web of intricate emotions and moral dilemmas. Ron Perlman stars as the former mercenary Theo, along with Megan Montaner, Hovik Keuchkerian, Natti Natasha, and Damián Alcázar. Former elite soldier Theo hunts for brutal revenge after his friend is murdered—while an addiction-struggling detective and a relentless hitman close in, and the past comes to collect its debts. The produce states: “I fell in love with the story when I first read the book and immediately thought it deserved to be told on the big screen.” Only worth a look to see Ron Perlman takin’ out the trash.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Gabriel Beristain’s film The Gentleman, direct from YouTube:

Since the death of his wife, former elite soldier Theo (Ron Perlman), known as “The Gentleman”, has been living a solitary life in Spain. His only comfort is in the company of Olga, a prostitute he pays simply to talk. When Olga is brutally murdered, Theo unleashes lethal skills of his past to hunt down all those responsible. On his path of vengeance he’s pursued by Iborra, a detective battling addiction, and Herodes, a cold-blooded hitman, leading to a violent collision where the past finally settles its debts. The Gentleman, also known as Ya No Quedan Junglas, is directed by the Mexican cinematographer / filmmaker Gabriel Beristain, director of the film El Grito previously, plus other shorts & TV projects. The screenplay is by Juma Fodde, adapted from the novel of the same name by Carlos Augusto Casas. Produced by Álvaro Ariza. This first premiered at the 2025 San Sebastian Film Festival last fall. Capelight Pictures debuts Beristain’s The Gentleman film direct-to-VOD in the US starting April 14th, 2026 coming soon this spring. Anyone?
