Fashion InStyle Facilitates Innovation Discovery and International Face-to-Face

This month, trade show Fashion InStyle will gather the entire apparel supply chain, creating a single sourcing platform for everything from textiles to technology.

Fashion InStyle is one of seven lifestyle- and licensing-focused events organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) that will run concurrently from April 27 to 30 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Designed as a one-stop sourcing destination, the co-located shows cover categories including fashion, gifting, home goods and packaging. The 2025 edition attracted more than 100,000 visitors from 131 countries and regions, including neighboring areas like Mainland China, Taiwan and Malaysia, 11,000 of whom attended Fashion InStyle.

“The HKTDC remains committed to promoting cross-sector and international trade cooperation among exhibitors, reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as an international trade hub and showcasing its unique advantage in building connections regionally and globally,” said Sophia Chong, HKTDC deputy executive director.

Within Fashion InStyle, attendees can explore suppliers for women’s, men’s and children’s wear across categories such as accessories, bridal and eveningwear, intimates, loungewear, athleisure and more. Going beyond tier 1 suppliers, a Materials Bazaar lets buyers scope out inputs like thread, textiles and labels, while another zone on the show floor focuses on fashion technology and solutions.

The next-gen material hub NEXT@Fashion InStyle is returning for the second year, showcasing how new innovations are driving functionality and sustainability forward in the industry. This time around, this section of the show is presented in partnership with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Hong Kong (PTIC), and 20 of the Asian nation’s suppliers will participate in NEXT alongside roughly 60 other exhibitors from around the globe.

The NEXT hub will cover three pillars of materials: sustainability, technology and functionality and culture and heritage. Supporting environmental responsibility, HKTDC anticipates exhibitors will use bio-based synthetic materials like biodegradable AlgaFila and mycelium-derived fibers, as well as emphasizing eco-friendly solutions like low-impact dyeing, recycled inputs and organic fibers.

Responding to the growing focus on how garments not only look but feel and function, NEXT will spotlight technologies that enhance textile performance. For instance, one focus will be on lightweight fabric development, including the use of Chargeurs’ H2 textile membrane that takes its name from hydrogen, the lightest element. Denim is also being reimagined with sophisticated, sensory fabrications that use Tencel fibers and knit construction for drapey, fluid jeans. Suppliers are also combing history for inspiration, such as modernizing Song dynasty-era brocade by mixing it with denim. 

“NEXT@Fashion InStyle is about pushing boundaries—rethinking how we design, create and innovate with materials that respect both tradition and the future,” said Han Chong, ambassador of NEXT@Fashion InStyle and the founder and creative director of London-based label Self-Portrait.

Extending the show experience beyond the convention center, Fashion InStyle incorporates a hybrid ExhibitionPlus model. Its Click2Match business matching platform will be accessible from April 20 to May 7, enabling participants to view lead suggestions powered by artificial intelligence and schedule online or on-site meetings. Adding to the digitalization of the experience, HKTDC hosts solutions for virtual sourcing via online catalogs and interactivity on the show floor, such as scanning QR codes to save exhibitor information.

“We participate in the Fashion InStyle every year to find new and stable clients, maintain brand exposure, and take the opportunity to understand the latest market trends,” explained Leo Ip, director of Deansenew Knitting Manufactory Limited, an exhibitor. “On the first day of the exhibition, we successfully connected with five high-quality clients from Chinese Mainland. We believe that our booth, product display, and the Scan2Match onsite promotion can bring us more enquiries, making it easier to follow up after the exhibition.”

In addition to facilitating exhibitor-buyer engagement, Fashion InStyle creates an educational experience for visitors through a series of seminars on topics like sustainability, future fabrics and testing and certification. Throughout the show, multiple fashion parades will provide design and textile inspiration.

Fashion InStyle and its sister shows aim to reinforce Hong Kong’s position as a sourcing destination. Helping buyers experience the city while they are in town for the show, HKTDC aligned with the Hong Kong Tourism Board on special hotel, restaurant and flight offers.

As one of the fashion event’s exhibitors, Mary Ma, owner-principal of Textile Library, noted, “Hong Kong is a vibrant crossroads where Eastern and Western cultures meet. It connects factories across Southeast Asia and attracts European and American buyers.”
