“Gen Zers track each other. I worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years, and what I’ve noticed about the younger Gen Zers that really freaks me out is that not only do their families track their location through their cell phones, but they also know where every member of their family is at all times. Their friends and significant others, too. They all share locations, as if it’s normal to have constant access to one another. It’s exhausting just to watch.”
“My young friend, who is a hard worker and a smart young man, told me that he could turn his location off to do things he wanted to do, but he knew that his parents would give him a hard time about it, and maybe even take money out of his bank account, that they have full access to! This man is 20 years old, is buying a house, has worked for years for all his money, and his family has access to his accounts, his location, and him at all times, and it’s not an isolated thing amongst them. It boggles my mind.”
