A new trailer for The Odyssey has arrived.

Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan is adapting Homer’s epic poem, which is centered on Odysseus and his ten-year journey home after the Trojan War. After starring in the Christopher Nolan movies Interstellar and Oppenheimer, Matt Damon has reunited with the director, this time to play Odysseus.

Now, during Nolan’s time as a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, a new trailer for The Odyssey was released. Beyond showing more of Odysseus and his epic journey, the footage highlights Robert Pattinson’s character Antinous, a suitor looking to marry Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and seize the throne of Ithaca for himself. While much of the trailer focuses on Antinous and his scheming, it opens with the nymph Calypso (Charlize Theron) asking Odysseus about what he remembers, with him emphasizing Penelope and their son Telemachus (Tom Holland). He also reflects on winning the Trojan War, and there is a shot of King Menelaus (Jon Bernthal) yelling triumphantly as the fighting comes to an end. Among the actors missing from the trailer is Zendaya, who plays the goddess Athena, and Lupita Nyong’o, whose role remains under wraps.

Anticipation has been incredibly high, with tickets for IMAX 70mm screenings going on sale a full year in advance and selling out in less than an hour. Nolan’s films have not only proven to be critical and commercial hits, but there is widespread interest in experiencing them through premium theatrical formats.
