Zack Snyder has once again treated the SnyderVerse fans with an unseen photo of Ben Affleck’s Batman. This is one more in the series of images the director has shared in recent weeks, while fans repeatedly urge him to restore the SnyderVerse.
Zack Snyder shares new Ben Affleck’s Batman post
Earlier this week, director Zack Snyder took to Instagram to share a never-before-seen image of Ben Affleck’s Batman. The post was accompanied by a caption: “They were hunters.”
The image features the Caped Crusader in a sideways pose, with his signature broody expression and dark clouds in the background. Furthermore, there’s a text behind him that reads “BATMAN.”
This isn’t the first photo he has shared recently, and posting photos from his old film sets is nothing new for the 300 director either. While this appears to be a way for him to celebrate those memories, it hasn’t stopped fans from asking him to revive the SnyderVerse. The comment section is filled with support from his loyal fans, who are expressing how much they prefer his version of Batman.
Affleck first appeared as the caped hero in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Interestingly, the film just completed its 10th anniversary earlier this year in March. Synder celebrated it with a simple upload of the film’s poster. He captioned it, “10 years ago tomorrow. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Myths made flesh.”
The film premiered in the United States on March 25, 2016. Even though it was one of the most anticipated superhero films at the time, it ultimately fell short on both critical and commercial fronts. It garnered a divisive reception, with critics predominantly giving it low scores. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film currently holds an approval rating of just 28%. In contrast, the audience score is at 63%.
Meanwhile, the film went on to earn $874.3 million at the global box office. Although it wasn’t a commercial failure, it is often considered an underperformer because films of this scope generally gross $1 billion.
When the film finally hit home media, it was released alongside an “Ultimate Edition.” It included 31 minutes of extra scenes. This version received a far better reception, with many calling it superior.
