Just days after the Met Gala came and went, the 2026 Cannes Film Festival kicked off a slew of star-studded red carpets in the South of France.

Across the two-week event, this year’s participants unsurprisingly delivered major fashion moments. But what was surprising was how many indie designers landed coveted Cannes red-carpet placements. Standouts include: New York darling Andrew Kwon dressing “Traitors” star Maura Higgins; Australian designer Tamara Ralph’s pink dresses for Alia Bhatt and Aja Naomi King; Parisian fashion label Matières Fécales’ avant-garde Barbie-core pink gown for Demi Moore; and Mexican-American designer Willy Chavarria’s structured take on the LBD for Barbara Palvin.
