For Ned Luke, the voice actor behind Michael in GTA 5, life imitated art in a disturbing way when he was swatted on two separate occasions while playing GTA Online on a livestream. Now, three years later, justice has been served to the culprit, and Luke’s been celebrating the ruling.
He posted the legal letter he received on Twitter, outlining the details and sentencing. The person in question will be incarcerated for four years, followed by three years of supervision, and a “special assessment” to the cost of $200.
“Don’t drop the soap in the shower douchebag,” Luke writes in the caption. “Won’t be swatting anyone anytime soon. And they’re coming for the ones he ratted out as well.”

The letter mentions the plaintiff’s acceptance of a plea agreement, meaning he’s cooperated with legal teams to some extent in exchange for a specific sentence.
The inciting incident occurred in November 2023, when Luke was livestreaming GTA Online on his personal YouTube channel during Thanksgiving. Mid-stream, a SWAT team arrived at his house, causing a major disturbance. The same thing happened again in December 2025, after which Luke was invited to testify against what officials believed to be a central perpetrator.
If you’re unaware of this practice, swatting is when someone falsely implicates another person in a crime or situation egregious enough to warrant a SWAT team’s deployment. It’s a drastically unfunny and extremely dangerous practice, putting multiple lives at risk.
At least now it’s also clear that anyone who participates in such activity could face legitimate jail time.
