LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, and KATSEYE just dropped one of the biggest collabs in K-pop, “Iconic By Mistake,” complete with a music video that has all the bells and whistles you could imagine. Plus, a bag!
During KATSEYE’s verse, Lara holds up a purse while singing, “Do this for the dream na na not just the bag, but the bag is nice though.” While the text in the music video is a mock up of a home shopping advertisement, calling it a “disposable plastic bag full of dreams and delusions” going for $1000, it’s actually a designer bag that you can buy right now for a much more reasonable price.
Created by Telfar, the black and silver bag looks almost like a plastic bag thanks to its shiny nylon fabric, but it actually features ruched handles and a fully built-out interior with plenty of compartments. The best part? The jumbo size retails for just $195. But, if you’re looking to stay under a budget of $100, the small option is only $88.
Lara’s black bag is just one iteration of Telfar’s plastic bag series. The brand also offers other versions that mimic popular motifs on take-out bags like smiley faces and hearts. And, in true Telfar fashion, there are a few fun colorway options to choose from as well.
Given Lara’s roots in New York, it’s fitting that she carried a piece from the Brooklyn-based designer who is known for creating the “Bushwick Birkin.” The plastic bag-like model also takes inspiration from the city. On Telfar’s website, it’s described as “our take on the staple New York sidewalk silhouette.”
This wouldn’t be the first time a KATSEYE member repped a bag from a new generation designer. At Coachella, Sophia, Yoonchae, Daniela, and Megan wore pieces from Stand Oil, the Korean brand known for trendy and cool everyday bags. So, if you’re in the market for a new bag, you might find your next pick among KATSEYE’s recent outfits.
