Purple Brand, Best Known for Its Denim, Is Now Launching Shoes

Nearly ten years after its founders Luke Cosby and Rob Lo came together in Canada to launch a fashion label rooted in denim and streetwear, Purple Brand is getting into .

According to the company, it has launched a new classic tennis-inspired silhouette developed over a 2.5-year design process in four colorways — white, black, silver and blue.

The design is defined by exaggerated proportions, a reinforced toe and heel, and hand-taped calfskin leather. A padded tongue and cushioned midsole enhance comfort, while custom oversized laces and a custom outsole ground the silhouette. Purple noted that each component is from a custom-molded heel counter with elevated branding to the fully developed outsole designed specifically for this release.

For Lo, the move into footwear is a “natural evolution” of the brand. “It allows us to deepen our relationship with customers while expanding into one of the most expressive product categories,” the founder told FN in an interview. “It creates new opportunities for storytelling, innovation, and long-term growth while strengthening Purple’s lifestyle positioning.”

Lo noted that the launch comes as the company continues to focus on “creating products that balance distinctive design with everyday wearability.”

“We’re investing in premium materials, comfort and responsible sourcing while designing products with longevity in mind,” he added. “A Purple shoe is authentic to the brand, combining elevated craftsmanship with a modern edge.”

As for if consumers can expect more footwear from the brand, Lo said, “Absolutely.”

“This is just the beginning of our footwear platform,” Lo added. “We’ll continue expanding into new silhouettes and categories where we can offer something meaningful.”

Purple’s new footwear offering is now available at Purple-brand.com and select stores.

The launch comes after a period of growth for the company. In 2023, Purple Brand opened a new 10,000-square-foot showroom and lounge-space in the SoHo neighborhood of NYC. In 2024, the company opened a SoHo flagship store at 50 Howard Street.

In November, Purple Brand tapped professional soccer player Alejandro Balde of FC Barcelona as its global brand ambassador and the face of its pre-spring 2026 campaign.

The athlete was photographed in Barcelona at the historic Palauet d’Orsà, a neoclassical estate built in 1900 by architect Jaume Gustà i Bondia.
