गोवा के मुख्यमंत्री प्रमोद सावंत ने केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह से मुलाकात कर विधानसभा में अनुसूचित जनजाति के राजनीतिक आरक्षण की प्रक्रिया तेज करने का आग्रह किया। शाह ने सकारात्मक आश्वासन दिया। बैठक में राज्य के विकास कार्यों और भाजपा के नए कार्यालय समेत कई मुद्दों पर भी चर्चा हुई।

गोवा के मुख्यमंत्री प्रमोद सावंत ने मंगलवार को नई दिल्ली में केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह से मुलाकात की। इस दौरान उन्होंने राज्य की 40 सदस्यीय विधानसभा में अनुसूचित जनजाति (ST) के लिए राजनीतिक आरक्षण की प्रक्रिया को जल्द पूरा कराने का अनुरोध किया। मुलाकात के बाद प्रमोद सावंत ने सोशल मीडिया मंच ‘एक्स’ पर बताया कि केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री ने उनके अनुरोध पर सकारात्मक आश्वासन दिया। उन्होंने इसके लिए अमित शाह का आभार भी व्यक्त किया।


बैठक में किन मुद्दों पर चर्चा हुई?

मुख्यमंत्री ने गृह मंत्री को गोवा सरकार की विभिन्न विकास परियोजनाओं और राज्य में चल रहे कार्यों की जानकारी दी। साथ ही उन्होंने भविष्य में भी मार्गदर्शन देने का अनुरोध किया। प्रमोद सावंत ने अमित शाह को भारत के राष्ट्रपति द्वारा गोवा पुलिस को पुलिस कलर्स प्रदान करने के समा रोह में शामिल होने का निमंत्रण दिया। इसके अलावा भाजपा की गोवा इकाई की ओर से पार्टी के नए प्रदेश मुख्यालय के उद्घाटन का भी आमंत्रण दिया गया।

ST आरक्षण का मुद्दा क्यों अहम माना जा रहा है?

हाल के वर्षों में गोवा की कई समुदायों को अनुसूचित जनजाति का दर्जा मिलने के बाद विधानसभा में ST के राजनीतिक आरक्षण का मुद्दा प्रमुखता से उभरा है। अगले वर्ष की शुरुआत में होने वाले विधानसभा चुनावों से पहले इस विषय को महत्वपूर्ण माना जा रहा है।
