With her bright, beachy aesthetic, it’s only expected that Zara Larsson was also ahead of the trend. Her hot pink set back in June featured her signature sparkly twist with a layer of chrome.

And Adéla and KATSEYE’s Megan proved that the 2010s hot pink and black combo is timeless with their neon nail art. Vanessa Hudgens also put her own twist on the neon nails trend with bright green cateye nails.

Neon nails have always been a summer classic, but in recent years, we’ve seen them gain popularity through different trends. First, it was the bright pink Barbie aesthetic from the Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie movie. Then, it was Charli XCX’s bright green Brat aesthetic.

Without a specific trend this year, we’re leaning back into the creativity and individuality of it, a much-needed outlet since more subdued styles became popular. While the neutrals work great when you have special events lined up and different outfits in different colors you need to match, the bold brightness of these hues do feel quite fitting for the spontaneity of summer break, especially as it’s coming to an end. That’s not to say you can’t wear neon nails year round, though!
