Most Iconic Sitcom Bosses of All Time
There are some bosses who stand out for all the right reasons, and then there are others who stand out because they are terrible at their jobs. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, these tend to be the ones that become the most iconic.
Michael Scott is someone who likely immediately comes to mind whenever anyone thinks of a sitcom boss. The Office wouldn’t have been what it was without Michael running the place. Well, attempting to run the place! While he often had a good heart, his ideas were often completely outlandish and ridiculous. It didn’t help that he had some of the most ridiculous staff members possible helping him out. However, the place wasn’t the same after he left.
Ron Swanson is another who stands out. The Parks and Recreation boss was one of those types of bosses who always thought he knew what was best. He wanted to do as little work as possible, and that led to a lot of downtime and questions about whether his department was even needed. Fortunately, he had a great team, but even they could sometimes make you scratch your head in wonder. There’s no government official we love more, though!
Some bosses are memorable because they’re great at their jobs. Captain Raymond Holt from Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of them. While stoic and extremely formal, he was one of the most loyal bosses ever on TV. He stood by every single member of his team, even when he knew that they had created their own problems. This was a man who wanted to see people rise through the ranks and be the best detectives or sergeants that they could be, and because of that, he ended up earning the love of his entire squad.
