What Time Stick Season 1 Releases On Apple TV+ & How Many Episodes Are Left

WARNING! This article contains SPOILERS for Stick season 1, episodes 1–3!Apple TV+’s new golf comedy series Stick has finally debuted on the streaming service, with plenty more episodes still remaining in season 1. Giving Apple TV+ its next Ted Lasso-like sports comedy hit, Stick officially premiered its first three episodes on June 4, giving a more in-depth introduction to Pryce Cahill and Santi Wheeler’s journey to the US Amateur Golf Championship. Stick boasts a talented cast led by Owen Wilson, Peter Dager, Judy Greer, Marc Maron, and Mariana Treviño, whose performances in the series have been a major contribution to its early positive 83% Rotten Tomatoes score.

By Stick episode 3’s ending, we get some intriguing glimpses into Pryce (Wilson) and Santi’s (Dager) backstories as the former strives to coach the latter into becoming a new golf star. In 2009, Pryce’s professional golf career ended after a “breakdown” at a major tournament, and he’s since been working as an equipment salesman while giving lessons. Meanwhile, Santi stopped playing golf for years after being abandoned by his father, who originally taught him the sport. Now, as Stick season 1 progresses, Pryce and Santi must overcome their pasts together to forge a new legacy in the golf world.

While Stick’s premiere on Apple TV+ included a three-episode drop, the remainder of season 1 will only release one new episode each week. Similarly, though Stick season 1, episode 1 had an extended 46-minute length, upcoming episodes will fall in line with the two most recent outings’ half-hour runtimes.

Stick’s release schedule follows a steady trend by Apple TV+, which officially releases new TV show installments on Wednesdays and Fridays. Recently, many of Apple TV+’s larger hits like Severance, Silo, and Your Friends & Neighbors have debuted new entries on Fridays, though the streaming service still has big titles like Slow Horses, Ted Lasso, and Shrinking with Wednesday release dates. Regardless of which day of the week it falls on, Stick is already an early streaming hit, surpassing Your Friends & Neighbors to become the top-trending title on Apple TV+ the day after its premiere.

The first 3 episodes of Owen Wilson’s new golf dramedy series Stick make for a charming, easy-viewing experience that may be a bit too thin to last.

The season 1 finale of Stick is also debuting at an opportune time this summer. With a July 23 release date, Stick’s season 1 finale will premiere just two days before the long-awaited Happy Gilmore 2 releases on Netflix on July 25. The Adam Sandler sequel is expected to increase interest in golf-related content, so Stick may benefit from that excitement as a great golf comedy lead-in. The same is true vice versa, as fans of Stick can enjoy another golf-focused comedy right after it ends by watching Netflix’s star-studded Happy Gilmore 2 film.

With seven episodes left before reaching that point, Stick has plenty of exciting plot threads and journeys to take its characters on throughout the rest of the season. Pryce’s goal is to get Santi to qualify for the U.S. Amateur Golf Championship, but there are numerous personal obstacles the coach and player will have to overcome to accomplish that task. From Pryce’s misguided gambling and mistakes in approaching Santi’s errors during his golf rounds to Santi’s “troublesome” new friendship with Zero, it’ll take a lot of work in Stick episode 4 and beyond to get the duo there.
