This week, we returned for another smorgasbord of tasty new exclusives, this time from the world of television, as we teamed up with some of the biggest networks, streamers, and shows to bring the biggest and best fan bases in the world the latest taste of their favorite shows, from Wednesday to Only Murders in the Building. ‘Butterfly’

Release Date: August 13

Starring Lost alum Daniel Dae Kim, Prime Video’s upcoming thriller series Butterfly kicked off our latest week of exclusive previews, with a clip available to watch above. Appearing alongside the likes of Reina Hardesty (The Secret Art of Human Flight), Piper Perabo (Yellowstone), and Louis Landau (Rivals), Kim stars as David Jung, an enigmatic ex-U.S. intelligence agent who relocated to South Korea in the hope of finding a fresh start. However, hot on his heels is a villainous spy organization hell-bent on seeking revenge for a costly decision Jung made in the past. Ahead of the show’s arrival, Collider’s Christina Radish sat down with Perabo to discuss her upcoming villain role in the series:

“Min-sik Choi’s performance in the original Oldboy is one of my favorite performances. I never dreamed that in this moment of the K-wave, I would get a chance to film with an all-Korean crew, mostly Korean cast, in Seoul and all over the country. And so, it was really exciting. This K-drama thing that’s flourishing out of Korean cinema is so powerful and so undeniable. Even if you haven’t seen Parasite, you’ve seen Squid Game. There’s K-pop and K-beauty and so many things that are coming out of this culture right now that are so cutting edge, and it’s really fun to get to join in. It’s so beautiful.”

‘Tracker’ Season 3

Release Date: October 19

CBS’ hit procedural, Tracker, has been an undeniable success ever since its 2024 debut, with fans desperate for more following the jaw-dropping final moments of Season 2. In the upcoming Season 3, set for a Fall release, Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw is set to face his toughest challenges yet, as he is forced to wrestle with terrifying truths about his personal past whilst solving even tougher puzzles. As part of our preview week, we spoke to showrunner Elwood Reid, who gave us a teasing insight into the upcoming third season:

“We pose several questions in the season opener that will reverberate throughout the season. It’s not just who killed his father — something we revealed in the finale — but what drove his father to ‘lose it’ — what dark forces were at play that pushed Colter’s mother to come to the conclusion that she felt she had to leave him to save the kids and her own sanity. Colter will put the pieces of that together this season.”

‘Lynley’

Release Date: September 4

Everyone loves a BritBox crime drama, and the latest offering from across the pond is a proud part of our exclusive preview week. Lynley, based on the Inspector Lynley novels by Elizabeth George, Vikings: Valhalla star Leo Suter takes on the titular role as the aristocratic police detective who is paired with the maverick DS Barbara Havers (Sofia Barclay) in an unlikely duo ready to crack a revolving door of difficult cases. In the exclusive image revealed above, the two can be seen hard at work at their desk, fully immersed in what promises to be a mystery packed with twists. Suter and Barclay star alongside the likes of Daniel Mays (Magpie Murders), Niamh Walsh (The English Game), Michael Workeye (My Lady Jane), and Joshua Sher (Vera), with episodes released weekly for viewers from the U.S. and Canada starting September 4.

‘Task’

Release Date: September 7

The Emmy-winning Mare of Easttown is one of HBO’s finest crime dramas, with creator Brad Ingelsby finally back with a replacement, four years since the Kate Winslet-led series ended. Starring MCU favorite and Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo, Task follows the actor’s Philadelphia-based FBI agent Tom, as he and an expert task force look to crack down on a recent string of robberies haunting their community. Ahead of the September premiere, Maggie Lovitt spoke with Ingelsby about the series as part of Collider’s week of exclusives, with the creator detailing the two avenues of inspiration behind the show:

“Task is really inspired by two things, I would say. One is my uncle being a priest — he left the priesthood — and me being very interested in that idea of faith and his relationship to faith, and that idea of sort of having faith and losing faith, and that really informs Mark’s character in the show and what his view of faith is in the midst of this tragedy. Then, the other part of it is just having had a conversation with our tech advisor one time, I don’t even know what spurred it, but we were talking about a crime or something like that, and he was saying the people that actually know the most about you and are the most invisible are our mailmen — they come through your neighborhood every single day; they know your building — and trash men because they’re going through your trash every week. They’re coming around once or twice a week. So, that idea was very interesting to me. I feel like we hadn’t seen it before, a trash man who was involved in this scheme.”

‘Wayward’

Release Date: September 25

One of Netflix’s most exciting upcoming series, the ever-brilliant Toni Collette stars in Wayward, a new project from the brilliant mind of comedian and Taskmaster winner, Mae Martin. Also starring the likes of Sarah Gadon (Dracula Untold), Alyvia Alyn Lind (Chucky), Sydney Topliffe (Davey & Jonesie’s Locker), and Brandon Jay McLaren (The Rookie), this eight-episode limited series is set in a small town ravaged by dark secrets, with two whistleblowers emerging and unleashing chaos. For Collider’s week of exclusives, a brand-new look at Collette in the series is available above, with the actress seen with her sleeves rolled up, sternly looking at someone off-screen whilst ringing a small bell.

‘Long Story Short’

Release Date: August 22

From BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg comes a brand-new adult comedy you’re not going to want to miss. Following the dysfunctional Schwooper family, Long Story Short follows the evolution of a family over several years, as their many ups, downs, and in-betweens help them grow and change as both individuals and a unit. Featuring the vocal talents of the likes of Ben Feldman, Lisa Edelstein, Max Greenfield, Paul Reiser, and Abbi Jacobson, the new series has teamed up with Collider as part of our exclusive preview event to debut a sneak peek at the upcoming show, available to watch above. Netflix clearly has lots of faith in the series, with a second season already greenlit before the first has premiered.

‘Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch’

Release Date: 2025

Famed for his work alongside Chad Stahelski and starring Keanu Reeves in the John Wick franchise, Derek Kolstad is back as the head writer on Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, an animated series based on the beloved Tom Clancy video games. As part of Collider’s exclusive preview event, the image available above gives fans a sneak peek at Liev Schreiber‘s espionage agent Sam Fisher, fully equipped with his famous night vision goggles. As part of the exclusive preview, Collider also spoke to Kolstad about the upcoming series:

‘Tempest’

Release Date: September 10

K-drama fans, your new favorite series is on its way this September. Headlined by the duo of Gianna Jun and Gang Dong-won, Tempest is an espionage thriller set directly after a high-profile assassination attempt on a prominent South Korean presidential candidate. This leads former diplomat Munju to seek the truth through any means necessary, although the last thing she expects to find is a web of state secrets. ‘Billy the Kid’ Season 3

Release Date: 2025

Even the best things have to come to an end. ‘Happy’s Place’ Season 2

Release Date: November 7

Reba McEntire is the country singer, Voice coach, and acclaimed actress we all know and love. In her latest series, Happy’s Place, McEntire’s Bobbie inherits a bar from her late father, Happy, and begins an emotionally poignant new relationship with her younger half-sister, Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), as they begin to run the bar together. Receiving positive reviews from many, the show is ready to return for an exciting second outing, with both Isabella and Bobbie sharing a moment together in the exclusive Season 2 image available above. ‘Beavis and Butt-Head’ Season 3

‘The Last Frontier’

Release Date: October 10

Apple TV+ are known for their high-quality projects, with another such stellar production coming the way of subscribers this October. Hailing from The Blacklist creator Jon Bokenkamp, the 10-episode series The Last Frontier follows Jason Clarke‘s US Marshal Frank Remnick as he ends up trapped in the Alaskan wilderness after a prison transport plane crashes. With fugitives on the run in the unforgiving climate, the odds are stacked against Frank, showcased in the isolating image available above, released exclusively as part of Collider’s preview event. Recalling the harsh conditions production took place in, Clarke said:

“As anyone who worked on The Revenant will testify, shooting in the snow and needing snow for a long period of time, chasing snow; is challenging. Preparation and logistics on this were huge. -25 degrees Celsius then you add on wind chill – nights – it gets rough. […] 7-minute non-stop fight sequences with helicopters and burning airplanes on the frozen tundra will set a level of required intensity and commitment. Harsh elements demand focus, professionalism and bring reality. Sam Hargrave and his stunt/camera team have all these qualities in spades. Loved working with them so much.”

‘Robin Hood’

‘Mr. Scorsese’

Simply one of the greatest filmmaking minds of all time, Martin Scorsese truly is a one-of-a-kind director. In celebration of his inspirational career behind the camera, acclaimed director Rebecca Miller has put together a documentary series that looks into Scorsese’s life like no other before. Painting a portrait of both the man and the filmmaker, Mr. Scorsese includes interviews and conversations with many famous faces, including Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day-Lewis, Mick Jagger, and many more. Ahead of the release, and as part of Collider’s exclusive preview event, we spoke to director Miller about the upcoming documentary:

“My first question to Scorsese was, “what is your first memory?” – we immediately tunneled into his childhood. I was especially interested in comprehending the emotional geometry of his family. I wanted to know all about the relationships within that family—mother to son, son to father, mother to father, brother to brother. I wanted to understand the neighborhood and the church—crime and religion—and their outsized presence in Scorsese’s work. All his work– from Mean Streets to Killers of the Flower Moon– has its nerve endings in that neighborhood and in that family. This is how I first realized this could not be a single film; we needed multiple parts in order to explore this man’s roots as well as his Shakespearean-level output.”

‘Talamasca: The Secret Order’

From Interview with the Vampire to Mayfair Witches, the literary works of Anne Rice have proven hugely popular with audiences. ‘Karen Pirie’ Season 2

Release Date: October 2

The newest British crime thriller obsession of many, Karen Pirie, was a huge hit in its first season, so much so that a second season felt inevitable. Said second season is officially on its way, with the US release date of October 2 on BritBox now confirmed. ‘The Mighty Nein’

Release Date: November 19

Your next animation obsession, The Mighty Nein, is on its way on Prime Video this November, and, as part of Collider’s exclusive preview event, a brand-new image is available to check out above. Voiced by Liam O’Brien, the image shows the haunted wizard Caleb Widogast with the power of magic literally in his hands. Based on campaign two of Critical Role and set two decades following The Legend of Vox Machina, the new series will hope to capture the same critical and audience acclaim as the first outing, which holds a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Alongside the reveal, Showrunner and Executive Producer Tasha Huo shared an insight into how the spellcasting in The Mighty Nein has been crafted:

“Our approach to spellcasting had to be incredibly specific in The Mighty Nein. The show is full of unique characters whose magical abilities are deeply rooted in who they are as people, and stem from the trauma they’ve experienced in their past. Their magic reflects their personality. For instance, Caleb — a meticulous and severe young wizard — requires rare materials, measured and used precisely, to cast spells. His magic will look nothing like that of the other characters. We’re confident you’re not going to see magic like this in any other show.”

‘Marvel Zombies’

Release Date: September 24

With a 2021 episode of the Disney+ animated series What If…? introducing the concept of zombies to the superhero franchise, director Bryan Andrews and writer Matthew Chauncy dazzled audiences with their take on the popular Marvel Zombies comics. So successful was this venture that there was much more to explore, enough to bring to life a full series, scheduled to hit Disney+ on September 24. As part of Collider’s exclusive preview event, a brand-new, terrifying image of the upcoming series is available to see above, as well as our very own Maggie Lovitt chatting to Andrews about the upcoming series. In reference to Kevin Feige‘s faith in the concept, Andrews said:

“I think Kevin always knew because it was Kevin that really pushed for doing something with the zombies just regardless. And it turned out well. And I think once the response came in, when people saw the episode, I think that helped seal the deal. And I forget exactly when, but relatively soon after that, it was, ‘Well, we got to do another one.’ And then it was the question of, I think Brad [Winderbaum] also mentioned that, but it shouldn’t just be an episode. It should be like its own thing, and hence the beginning of us figuring out what on earth to do.”

‘Boots’

Release Date: October 9

For anyone who has seen the recent, hugely successful British crime series Code of Silence, the talent of Kieron Moore is obvious. The actor’s next project, the coming-of-age comedy-drama series, Boots, is scheduled to debut on Netflix on October 9, with a new image of Moore in his US Marine get-up available above as part of Collider’s exclusive preview event. Created by Pantheon producer Andy Parker, the series is inspired by US Marine Greg Cope White’s memoir, The Pink Marine, and follows gay teenager Cameron Cope, played by 13 Reasons Why‘s Miles Heizer, who escapes bullying from his high school by impulsively enlisting in the Marines.

‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’ Season 3

‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 4

Not only does the image above reintroduce fans to Jeremy Renner‘s Mike McLusky, suited, booted, and ready to go, but it also shows him in a tense face-off with Edie Falco of The Sopranos fame, who is set to play the new warden of the Anchor Bay Prison.

‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 5

Release Date: September 9

The revolving doors to the Arconia are spinning once again, as a host of new residents are checking in, unaware of the danger that lurks in the halls. One of the most eagerly anticipated releases this September, Only Murders in the Building Season 5 promises the most twisty mystery yet, with the now-veteran crime-solving instincts of Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) put to the test, courtesy of series newcomer Logan Lerman. As part of Collider’s exclusive preview event, the brand-new image above showcases Gomez’s Mabel and Lerman’s new arrival standing together in the apartment, with Lerman possibly part of the investigation. Joining the stacked Season 5 cast are four fan-favorites: Meryl Streep as Loretta Durkin, Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Detective Williams, Richard Kind as Vince Fish, and, for the first time since Season 2, Nathan Lane as Teddy Dimas.

‘The Paper’

Release Date: September 4

Translating the UK version of The Office to American screens was a hard enough task, so the jury remains out on whether Greg Daniels can do the same again with Peacock’s The Paper. However, from the trailer released, the cast announced, and now thanks to the new image available above released as part of Collider’s exclusive preview event, everything looks perfectly in place for lightning to strike twice. In the image, Domhnall Gleeson’s Ned Sampson, the new editor-in-chief at the Toledo Truth Teller, seems to be having a chaotic one-on-one with Tim Key‘s as-yet-unknown character, who could possibly be the next assistant to the regional manager. The rest of The Paper‘s cast includes the likes of Chelsea Frei (Poker Face), Gbemisola Ikumelo (A League of Their Own), Alex Edelman (Just For Us), and a returning Oscar Nuñez.

‘The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox’

Release Date: August 20

Back in 2007, the case of Amanda Knox garnered global attention after she was wrongfully convicted of murdering her roommate, Meredith Kercher, a fellow exchange student in Italy. After spending four years incarcerated in Italy, Knox has spent the many years since having her story repeated across the world. Now, Hulu are having their say with The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, a true crime-centered tale set to debut on August 20. As part of Collider’s exclusive preview event, above are two images from the upcoming miniseries, which show Grace Van Patten (Tell Me Lies, Nine Perfect Strangers), who stars as the titular Amanda, both gleefully walking around Italy and then distraught at the accusations.

‘High Potential’ Season 2

Release Date: September 16

Last September, High Potential debuted on ABC to great acclaim, even helping the network give CBS a run for their viewing figures money. On September 16, almost exactly a year since it first premiered, the series is back for a high-octane second season that promises even more drama inside the walls of the LAPD’s Major Crimes division.
