New WW2 Revenge Thriller Debuts With Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score

The forthcoming revenge thriller Sisu: Road to Revenge has debuted with a fantastic Rotten Tomatoes score ahead of its theatrical release. The sequel to 2022’s Sisu, also written and directed by Jalmari Helander, Road to Revenge follows Jorma Tommila’s Aatami Korpi, who is now embroiled in a violent conflict with a Red Army Commander (Stephen Lang), who killed Aatami’s family.

The first Sisu movie was a sleeper hit, which maintains a 94% critics’ approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. On behalf of RogerEbert.com, Brian Tallerico compliments this movie again while praising the sequel, saying: “[It] reimagines everything that worked about Sisu, but it does what an action sequel should do and builds on it instead of just repeating the same barely-controlled chaos. This movie rules.”

Sisu: Road to Revenge has now debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a perfect 100% critics’ score, from 12 critics’ reviews so far. The action is the most praised element of the sequel, with comparisons being made to Mad Max: Fury Road, though this movie takes place in a World War II setting.

Sisu: Road to Revenge had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 21 and releases in the U.S. on November 21.
