One of the most talked-about athletic footwear stories of 2025 was Nike’s “Dirty Triple White” Air Force 1. The style, which played up an internet favorite meme and the appeal of well-loved sneakers, featured a “dirty” scratch-away coating which wears away to reveal a clean and crispy white-on-white Air Force 1 underneath. And while that pair, which was released in May, has come and gone, Nike has a new low-top colorway of the classic 1980s model which features a total gray upper that results in a similarly dingy aesthetic.

The just-released Air Force 1 ’07 College Gray is decked out in a light gray shade which covers the entirety of the sneaker from its leather upper to its shoelaces and rubber sole. Whether intentional or not, the specific hue results in a look that resembles a pre-worn Air Force 1, but without the exaggerated scuffs and stains found on the aforementioned Dirty Triple White look.

Given the buzz that surrounded the Dirty Triple White release, it’s not a stretch to assume that Nike would release a similar-looking style as a sort of consolation prize for those who missed out on the more hyped iteration. Brands will often feed off the attention produced by collaborations and limited-edition special makeups to build energy around more accessible releases later down the line. And while that’s not certainly the case here, the College Gray arrives at an opportune time.

Other recent and upcoming Nike Air Force 1 releases of note include the return of the mid-top Flax colorway in Quickstrike form and a winterized version of the sneaker equipped with Gore-Tex liners and Vibram outsoles. 

Unlike the limited-edition Dirty Triple White, this new College Gray pair arrives without the pomp and circumstance of a press release and Snkrs launch. Instead, the in-line style is available now in a full size range from nike.com and select Nike Sportswear retailers. The full colorway is College Gray/College Gray and the sneaker’s style code is IH1698-001.
