Gucci Hires CFO From Automotive Industry, Valérie Leberichel Has Exited Brand

MILAN — The organizational changes at Gucci continue under the lead of president and chief executive officer Francesca Bellettini and creative director Demna.

Gianluca de Ficchy was named chief financial officer, effective Monday, reporting to Bellettini. He succeeds Alberto Valente, whose title was chief financial, data and operations officer, and who worked at Gucci for 17 years.

Like Luca de Meo, who took on the role of CEO of parent company Kering on Sept. 15, de Ficchy joins Gucci from the automotive industry. He was most recently CEO of Mobilize within the Renault Group and was chairman of the board of directors of RCI Banque SA. He began his career at Ernst & Young, then joined RCI Bank ad Services and advanced through several key roles at FCA and Nissan.

As reported, de Meo spent five years leading Renault and boasts a total of 30 years in the automobile industry at brands including Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Toyota, Volkswagen and Seat.

Also, WWD has learned that Valérie Leberichel has exited Gucci, which she joined at the end of December last year as senior vice president of global communications. She was recruited by and reported to then-CEO Stefano Cantino. Gucci confirmed Leberichel’s departure.

Leberichel has more than 27 years of experience in marketing and communication strategy. She was previously global vice president of communications at Givenchy, since 2022. She began her career as PR manager at Jean Louis Scherrer and later became communications director at Issey Miyake Europe. In 2002, she joined Celine as communication manager for more than 10 years before moving to the Prada Group in 2013 as worldwide communications and external relations director for Miu Miu. By 2019, she oversaw global communications for Miu Miu and headed communications for Prada France.

As reported, Dario Gargiulo, previously CEO of Bottega Veneta in Greater China, in mid-November became Gucci‘s chief client, marketing and commercial officer, a new post reporting to Bellettini — and a strong signal that she is keen to construct a more client-centric organization.

As Gargiulo arrived, Maria Cristina Lomanto, Gucci’s president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa since May, left the company. Lomanto, who had joined Gucci in 2022 from Roger Vivier, first held the title of Gucci’s executive vice president, brand general manager, working closely with Demna’s predecessor Sabato De Sarno.

Chief commercial officer Cayetano Fabry succeeded Lomanto as head of the EMEA region.
