OWN and the NAACP came together on Monday, December 1, to host a dazzling and deeply meaningful celebration. This exclusive, private event at The Aster Club served as a true celebration of partnership, community, and the power of content that positively shapes the culture. Moreover, the night successfully brought together OWN’s President, Tina Perry, along with special guest Iyanla Vanzant from Iyanla: Fix My Life, Amber Stevens West and Corbin Reid from The Christmas Showdown, the host of Ready to Love Tommy Miles, acclaimed cast members from OWN’s hit series Love & Marriage: Huntsville, and executive producer, Carlos King, its freshman series from Jesse Collins Entertainment Heart & Hustle: Houston, as well as key NAACP members and press for an evening of shared appreciation.
The excitement began immediately as attendees walked a glamorous black carpet, experiencing the star treatment firsthand. The celebration was officially kicked off with inspiring remarks from OWN’s President, Tina Perry. She emphasized the shared mission of uplifting diverse voices and impactful narratives.
Guests were immersed in an exclusive VIP experience, featuring specialty cocktails, heavy bites, and a vibrant atmosphere set by DJ Dar.Jar. The venue featured prominent branding and interactive elements, including a dynamic step-and-repeat and a beautiful “Hollywood” portrait station, offering memorable moments for all attendees.






The entire evening was a beautiful display of synergy and collaboration, celebrating the positive impact that OWN’s talented cast and content have on the culture and community. As a special memento of the joyous occasion, attendees were gifted a custom blanket, symbolizing the warmth and connection fostered by this important partnership between OWN and the NAACP.
