There’s Only 1 Marvel Movie Coming Out Between Now And Avengers: Doomsday

Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters over the holidays in 2026, and somewhat surprisingly, there is only one MCU movie coming out before it arrives in theaters. Marvel has slowed down on releasing films in recent years, and while there were three in 2025, there are only two scheduled for 2026, with Doomsday ending the year.

In somewhat of a surprise, this means that Fantastic Four: First Steps and Thunderbolts are the only two recent movies that lead into Avengers: Doomsday. There is one more chance to set up the events with Doctor Doom, and it doesn’t seem likely for the next film. That is because the only movie hitting theaters until December is Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Marvel’s Next Movie Releases In July 2026

Spider-Man from Brand New Day

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a reboot for the character after the first trilogy ended with him erasing his identity and existence from everyone’s memory. The new movie is named after a controversial Marvel Comics storyline that also rebooted Spider-Man’s world in a similar manner, and the MCU hopes their version is better received.

While Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters in July, it is only one of two MCU movies scheduled for release in 2026, and that means it is the last chance to set up Avengers: Doomsday. However, nothing about the film hints that it will have anything to do with the upcoming war with Doctor Doom.

The fourth Spider-Man movie is supposed to follow him as he battles street-level violence, and it might adapt the Marvel Comics gangland war to the big screen. Names like Tombstone and Mister Negative are supposed to be involved, among other gang-level street villains like The Scorpion. Hulk is also supposed to be involved in the story.

While this doesn’t sound like it will set up Avengers: Doomsday, Spider-Man played a considerable role in the upcoming possible Incursions. With Spider-Man tinkering with magic and pulling in his variants from both the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies and The Amazing Spider-Man, he could have upset the balance of the multiverse.

Will Spider-Man: Brand New Day Connect To Avengers: Doomsday?

If Spider-Man’s actions in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange’s actions in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness caused the upcoming Incursion, that means Doctor Doom might be looking to deal with both of these MCU heroes. However, how this could connect remains unknown.

There are a couple of ways that Spider-Man: Brand New Day could connect to Avengers: Doomsday. The first is that it could just end up as a post-credit scene, similar to what happened in Thunderbolts. Doctor Doom could show up and Spider-Man could find himself in over his head.

However, the second hint could come with the addition of Hulk to the movie. With the idea that savage Hulk could show up to fight Spider-Man, most people thought it was Mister Negative that caused his rage. However, what if Doctor Doom used his magic to confuse Hulk and send him over the edge?

If Spider-Man: Brand New Day has Doctor Doom try to ruin Spider-Man and Hulk’s lives, he could be setting up the pieces that could play out in Avengers: Doomsday, removing pieces from the board before he finally strikes. Whatever happens, this is the MCU’s last chance to set Doom’s plan into motion before everything changes.
