Production has begun on the upcoming A Different World sequel series!

Netflix announced the start of filming on Thursday (February 26), with the cast kicking off the reboot in Atlanta.

With production starting, the streamer also announced new additions to the cast, including two more actors from the original series!

Here’s a synopsis: When Deborah, Dwayne Wayne, and Whitley Gilbert’s free-spirited, well-intentioned, yet rebellious youngest child, enters her freshman year at Hillman College, she finds the shadow of her parents difficult to escape as she sets out to build her own legacy, while having the time of her life, alongside a whole new generation of Hillman’s best and brightest.

The series will consist of 10, half-hour episodes in the single camera format.

Debbie Allen, who directed 83 episodes of the OG series, will return as executive producer and will direct three episodes, including the first one.
