Long before the internet became, well, the internet, getting your hands on any of their wares involved booking a ticket to Japan or enlisting a proxy service to ship it to you. In 2026, though, the Osaka 5 are more accessible than ever—if you know where to look. To wit: this week, Mr Porter dropped a modest capsule of Fullcount products, including a range of raw selvedge jeans and jackets, a resounding W for any menswear buff without easy access to one of the brand’s limited brick-and-mortar stockists.

Any of the Osaka 5 would make for a PhD-level introduction to Japanese denim. What separates Fullcount from its peers, though, is an early commitment to Zimbabwean cotton. (Bear with me here, because this is where it gets wonky.) In contrast to hyper-efficient industrial processing, Zimbabwean cotton is picked slowly and methodically by hand, yielding a fiber with super long staples and superior luster and softness. Fullcount was among the first to use it, paving the way for any number of Japanese denim labels to follow its lead.
