Baltic’s Latest Watches Are Perfectly On Trend and Wildly Affordable

But our favorite has to be the multi-color pietersite version. Slightly pricier than the other Prismic executions, its dial is crafted from a rare form of chalcedony that features a swirling pattern of blue, yellow, red, yellow, and orange. The look is both stunning and mesmerizing, with each slice of stone painting a different picture. Even with the profusion of both relatively affordable and distinctly haute horlogerie stone-dial watches on the market today, there’s nothing quite like this humble, sub-$2K beauty, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Baltic had a tough time keeping up with demand for it.

Of course, it’s not just the Prismic’s stone dials that make it competitive: The dial furniture itself is clean and effective, with applied, faceted indices, a dauphine handset, and a subtle sub-seconds register above 6 o’clock, giving over most of the real estate to the stone itself. The 36 mm case is significantly more intricate than it might appear at first glance, with stainless steel bezel, lugs, and caseback integrated into a Grade 5 titanium case boasting multiple finishes and a classic stepped bezel. Inside, the hand-wound, Swiss-made La Jouxx-Perret D-100 movement offers 50 hours of power reserve and is visible via a sapphire caseback.
