‘Below Deck’ Faces Its Wildest Charter Guest Crisis, but It’s Not Who You Expect

History is repeating itself on Below Deck in more than one way. After Captain Kerry Titheradge rightfully removed Kelly Furey from the charter, co-primary Helen Hoey escorted her off the boat to ensure her safety. Kelly may be eliminated from returning, but now Helen has taken the title of the problematic charter guest when her flirting with Kyle Stillie leads to trouble for the deckhand. But Helen a record of flirting with younger men on Below Deck. Season 6 is being rehashed. But this time, it’s to the max.

Helen Hoey Sparks New Drama on ‘Below Deck’ After Kelly’s Removal

In the last episode, Kelly was removed from the yacht after she was so drunk she became a safety hazard to herself and the crew. Once the charter was back under control, it was Helen who caused a stir. While enjoying a day at the beach, the deckhands were on hand to help the charter guests, but in Helen’s mind, this was open season for her to do as she pleased, leading to her becoming quite fond of Kyle. What seemed like an innocent request to use him as a “flotation device” by holding her, became a massive issue as it appeared something intimate had occurred on her part. Kyle was simply playing along, ensuring a great experience for the guests. The only problem is, her husband, Richard Fiore, was feet away, snoring on shore. Even when back on board, she jokes that she wanted to pack Kyle in her suitcase and bring him home.

Helen’s Flirting Sparks Rumors and Drama on ‘Below Deck’ — Again

Perhaps the situation was exaggerated for television purposes, or maybe what we saw was exactly what happened, but the situation crossed the line. As revealed in the season trailer, Kyle was rumored to have been intimate with a charter guest. Through jokes and passing comments, the charter guest seems to be Helen. With the rumors swirling, but the teaser for the next episode leading to a red herring, it’s still trouble for Kyle. But given Helen’s history on Below Deck, no one should be surprised by her love of flirting with younger men.

Helen previously chartered during Season 6 of the flagship series. While Chief Stew Kate Chastain joked that she and the rest of the guests may have been part of the mafia, Helen devoted a lot of her time flirtatiously praising Chef Adrian Martin. She even went a step further and spent quality time with him in the galley for a private cooking lesson. While she didn’t suggest she’d pack him away, she did request his e-mail for more “pointers.” Helen and Richard did return for Season 7, but this time, they once again had another troublesome friend Brandy to pull focus.

This charter is becoming more problematic than it should, all stemming from a group of people who think they have no rules. The simple fact that this is not Helen’s first rodeo is alarming. Surely there shouldn’t be a test boarding a luxury yacht, but respect and decorum are required. No matter how much you pay for the trip. Furthermore, this is Below Deck. The cameras are rolling. They can and will capture your every move. The blurred line between keeping the guests happy and being inappropriate is back at the forefront. And it may cost someone their job.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 8:00pm on Bravo. All episodes are available to stream on Peacock.
