Former University of Kentucky competitive cheerleader Laken Snelling celebrated Easter with her boyfriend and her family months before she was arrested in connection to her baby’s death.
Snelling, 21, shared pictures via Facebook with her boyfriend, Connor Jordan, and a group of family members on April 20.
Dressed in a floral dress, Snelling put her hand on Jordan’s chest as they smiled for the camera.
Jordan, a former college basketball player at Lincoln Memorial University, was also featured in a series of TikTok videos posted by Snelling earlier this year.
The duo posed for a “couples photo shoot” in June, with Snelling and Jordan wearing matching white outfits and posing together in a field.
Jordan was also tagged in a TikTok video posted by Snelling in April, showing the couple getting ready for a Megan Moroney concert. In the clip, Jordan can be seen hugging Snelling from behind and kissing her on the cheek.
It is not clear if Snelling and Jordan were still dating when she was arrested on August 30.
Jordan has not been connected to Snelling’s pregnancy or the death of her baby in any way.
Authorities were dispatched to Snelling’s home Lexington, Kentucky on August 27, after receiving a call about an unresponsive infant.
The “infant was located wrapped in a towel inside of a black trash bag,” according to an arrest citation.
Snelling “admitted to giving birth” and to “concealing the birth by cleaning any evidence, placing all cleaning items used inside of a black trash bag, including the infant, who was wrapped in a towel.”
She was arrested three days later and charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and concealing the birth of an infant.
Snelling pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released on $100,000 bond. She is now living on “home incarceration with no ankle monitor” with her parents in Tennessee.
The infant’s manner of death was ruled as inconclusive, according to a coroner’s report obtained by Us Weekly on Thursday, September 4.
An ex-boyfriend of Snelling’s named Izaiah Hall recently submitted his DNA to authorities in connection to the death investigation.
“Lexington police had him come down to the station to give a sample,” Hall’s father, Justin Smith, told the New York Post on Saturday, September 6. “I don’t know anything on this and we don’t know if Izaiah is the father or not.”
It is not clear how long Snelling and Hall dated or when they broke up.
Snelling’s preliminary court hearing is scheduled for September 26.
