Daveed Diggs & Katie Aselton in Emotional Thriller ‘Magic Hour’ Trailer

“We were so good. We were happy!” Greenwich Ent. has revealed the first official trailer for an indie drama titled Magic Hour, an emotional thriller set in a desert house. This first premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival last year and played at the Nantucket, Nashville, Newport Beach, Woodstock Film Fests, and many others last year. Set for an indie release starting in May in limited theaters. A Duplass Brothers production starring Daveed Diggs & Katie Aselton. Charlie & Erin escape to the desert to navigate an unexpected & challenging new phase with their relationship. The cast also includes Brad Garrett and Susan Sullivan. This has some strong early reviews so far, calling it “a fresh look at what it takes to make love work, with an ambitious twist to spare.” I am always a fan of anything Mark Duplass works on – he got my attention with this. Even though the poster kinda gives away what’s happening, still seems like a worthwhile watch anyway.

The film follows Erin (Katie Aselton) and Charlie (Daveed Diggs) as they work through a challenging new phase of their relationship on a trip to the desert. Both actors in top form as they navigate their emotional highs & lows with humor and heart. Magic Hour is directed by indie actress / filmmaker Katie Aselton, director of the films The Freebie, Black Rock, and Mack & Rita previously, and a few shorts. The screenplay is co-written by Katie Aselton & Mark Duplass. Produced by Emily A. Neumann. With cinematography from Sarah Whelden. This initially premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival last year.
