With the recent release of Ready or Not 2, fans are wondering if they should wait for a post-credits scene. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the movie is a direct sequel to the eponymous 2019 horror flick. It returns with Samara Weaving, who reprises her role as Grace. Other cast members include Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, David Cronenberg, and Elijah Wood.
Is there a post-credits scene in Ready or Not 2’s ending?
No, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come does not feature any mid, end, or post-credits scene.
Fans don’t need to look out for additional footage at the end of the movie. They are free to leave their seats once the credits begin to roll.
Post-credits scenes often serve as a teaser for a potential future installment for a film series or a franchise. In this case, there is currently no official update on whether Ready or Not will return with a third movie.
Although the Ready or Not movies do not include any post-credits scene, there had been a deleted post-credits scene in the original draft of the first movie, written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Tyler Gillett detailed the additional scene that did not make it to the final edit of the original 2019 horror hit. He revealed that it was this deleted scene that inspired the idea for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.
“It’s a bunch of clearly very wealthy individuals talking about, ‘Did you hear what happened to the Le Domases?’” Gillett explained what happened in the deleted post-credit scene after the 2019 movie’s end. “And then they walk through some big doors and reveal there’s a giant crowd of people who are all there to worship Le Bail. I believe that ‘Hail Satan!’ was the last line of that tag,” he continued.
Gillett went on to reveal how this additional scene sparked the idea for a sequel. “We were just all very intrigued with the idea that, for as narrow and small as the first story feels, there was really something much bigger living off screen that was driving all of it,” he added.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come arrives in theaters on March 20.
