Emma Stone married archival style and Italian craftsmanship in New York City on Wednesday, pairing a Donna Karan set and Manolo Blahnik sandals, an outfit curated for an appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”

Stone, who is promoting her latest project with Yorgos Lanthimos, “Bugonia,” modeled a strappy black leather Manolo Blahnik sandal, the brand’s Susa style, for the late night occasion. The sandal plays with width and asymmetry, showcasing a thicker horizontal strap across the foot and two thinner straps intersecting at the big toe, making for an off-center design. While also available in a flat version, Stone wore an option with a flared kitten heel measuring 50mm, which offered her a slight boost in height. The style retails for $895 from the luxury brand.
The Susa creation has become a popular Manolo Blahnik style. Jewelry brand Sidney Garber teamed with Manolo Blahnik in 2024, and founder Brooke Garber Neidich called the Susa sandal her “summer staple.” The Susa flat was among the key silhouettes Manolo Blahnik decided to reemphasize recently, per FN’s 2024 exploration of how a range of brands maintain relevance for icon products.

“From a distance, I can immediately tell these shoes are ours. We’ve always gone back to [them]. Shoes that are investments are relevant,” chief executive officer Kristina Blahnik said.
For Stone, the Susa sandals aligned with the breezy sophistication of her archival spring 1996 Donna Karan ensemble, which consisted of a column skirt and a collared top daintily fastened at the chest. The garments were crafted in olive green satin.
Making the press rounds lately, Stone’s wardrobe has featured many elevated shoe looks. For example, she donned brown mesh pumps from Aquazzura, the brand’s Love Affair style, earlier this week.
