There may not be a Santa Claus coming down the chimney with a bag full of toys in the world of Fallout, but The Ghoul has a gift for fans of the Prime Video series this year. Ahead of the release of Season 2 next week, Walton Goggins‘ irradiated outlaw now has his own Christmas special called “The Ghoul Log,” an homage to the classic holiday tradition of a yule log, but with a human arm roasting on an open fire instead. It allows viewers to spend their holidays with their favorite post-apocalyptic killer, along with some classic seasonal tunes that fit the retrofuturistic tone of the video game adaptation. Best of all, it’s completely free and available to watch now on YouTube.

Before settling in as comforting holiday background noise, the video opens with season’s greetings courtesy of the Ghoul himself and his loyal companion, Dogmeat. With enough vials to last him throughout the twelve days of Christmas and the arm of a “fat man” — perhaps a nod to Goggins’ seasonal actioner with Mel Gibson — to keep him warm, he’s got just about everything he needs to survive until his return to screens. Once he’s ready to rest and merely take in the fire while, perhaps, taking a nap, the radio chimes in with the voice of Mr. New Vegas to read holiday missives and play tunes. It’s another nod to Fallout: New Vegas, where the AI radio DJ could be heard while traversing the Mojave wasteland, voiced by Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton.

His inclusion in the “Ghoul Log” makes it all the more likely Mr. New Vegas will be heard in Fallout Season 2 as Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul head to the city to track down Lucy’s father, Hank (Kyle McLachlan), after he fled from the Griffith Observatory. The show will include more material from the games than before, from locations to key characters like Mr. House (Justin Theroux), factions like Caesar’s Legion, and, of course, mutated monstrosities like the Death Claws. At the center of it all, though, is a journey to get answers from Hank about the Ghoul’s family, Vault-Tec, and who’s behind the wheel in the wasteland. Everyone will be converging on New Vegas for a coming war, roping in the likes of the Brotherhood of Steel and the newly knighted Maximus (Aaron Moten).
