Fifth Season Brings in Keshet’s Peter Traugott as President of Television

Fifth Season has officially hired Keshet‘s Peter Traugott as its president of television, the studio announced on Tuesday. Traugott will report to CEO Graham Taylor.

In addition, Noah Greenshner has been promoted to executive vice president and head of TV creative; he’ll report to Traugott. Maggie Burkhead has been named senior vice president of TV development & production.

Fifth Season is the studio behind Netflix’s His & Hers and Apple TV’s Severance; Fifth Season recently sold the IP rights to Severance to Apple TV for roughly $70 million, a person with knowledge of the deal confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

“This is a huge opportunity for us to add even more momentum to a television department that has been stacking hits,” Taylor said in a statement on Tuesday. “Peter has been a force in the business for years. He’s got a rare combination of creative taste and business sense, which can be a gamechanger in a studio’s growth, and the body of work to prove it. As for Noah and Maggie, we’re of course deeply acquainted with their quality. They’ve been key figures in making Fifth Season what it is today, and their new roles will empower them to do even more great work. It’s a big moment for us, and we can’t wait to build the next wave of globally successful series.”

Fifth Season was originally launched as Endeavor Content.

“Fifth Season has built a reputation for creative ambition, backing bold and distinctive series that resonate around the world. I’m thrilled to partner with Graham, Noah, Maggie, and the entire team to become a part of that,” Traugott said. “With the company’s global production infrastructure, the top-tier creator relationships they’ve cultivated, and a development slate that’s stacked with premium IP, we’re in a great spot to  continue to build on the group’s success and bring to life stories that are both culturally and commercially impactful.”

Fifth Season is also the independent studio behind Apple’s Chief of War; upcoming titles include East of Eden for Netflix, American Classic for MGM+, and The Good Daughter for Peacock.

Traugott most recently led Keshet Studios, the U.S. production arm of Keshet International, also as president. Keshet made Our Boys for HBO, La Brea for NBC, and A Small Light for Hulu. Prior to Keshet, Traugott founded TBD Entertainment, and before that, he spent 15 years with Brillstein Grey Entertainment. At Brillstein Grey, Traugott served as president of Television during the days of The SopranosNewsRadio, and According to Jim. Traugott has a BA from University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
