“In ancient Egyptian civilization, dark spirits and visions of the dead were never an illusion. Some that passed over were gone forever, but an unlucky few were consumed by a darkness far more evil than anyone could have ever imagined. Today it begins…” Warner Bros and Blumhouse have unveiled the first look teaser trailer for the upcoming 2026 horror movie official titled Lee Cronin’s The Mummy. No, it’s not just The Mummy (like the Brendan Fraser classic), Cronin got his name in the actual name of the movie: Lee Cronin’s The Mummy. Wild. Here’s the setup: The young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace – until eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them. What should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare… Starring Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, Verónica Falcón, and Emily Mitchell. From the Evil Dead Rise director, this looks more like Pet Sematary remixed with The Mummy, with Cronin also trying to put in Evil Dead-esque creeps & gore. But will this work? I’m not sure – got a bad feeling about it. Keep watch for it in April.
