Mother of God: Broken Lizard is back for more shenanigans in Super Troopers 3. Searchlight Pictures has revealed when the film will hit theaters, as well as a first look at the new film. Super Troopers 3 will speed into theaters on August 7, 2026. The gang’s all here in the new image; a little older, and almost certainly not a little wiser. The members of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe who kicked off the series in 2001 have returned, including Jay Chandrasekhar as “Thorny” Ramathorn, Kevin Heffernan as Rod Farva, Steve Lemme as Mac Womack, Paul Soter as Carl Foster, and Erik Stolhanske as “Rabbit” Roto​​​​​​​.

Also returning are Brian Cox as cantankerous commander John O’Hagen and Marisa Coughlan as Foster’s girlfriend, local police chief Ursula Hansen. Newcomers for the third film include Nat Faxon (The Conners), Chace Crawford (The Boys), Andrew Dismukes (Saturday Night Live), Hannah Simone (New Girl), Sakina Jaffrey (Billions), Iqbal Theba (Glee), Jon Rudnitsky (The Big Leap), and Lisa Gilroy (Twisted Metal). Plot details are being kept under wraps for now.

What Is ‘Super Troopers’ About?

2001’s Super Troopers follows a squad of state troopers in the fictional town of Spurbury, Vermont as they prank each other and the local motorists…and occasionally enforce the law. They’re forced to buckle down when they accidentally stumble on a drug smuggling case involving a dead body, a Winnebago full of marijuana, and the crooked local cops, led by Bruce Grady (Daniel von Bargen). The sequel sees the squad disbanded after accidentally causing the death of actor Fred Savage, but are reassembled to patrol a parcel of land that Canada has recently ceded to Vermont, leading to conflict with the Mounties and a corrupt Canadian mayor (Rob Lowe).

Made for a paltry $3 million USD, the original Super Troopers grossed $23 million at the box office, and tripled that on home video, becoming a cult sensation. Almost twenty years later, Super Troopers 2, which was partially crowdfunded on Kickstarter, proved to be a similar success, grossing $32 million in 2018.
