Kate Beckinsale is alleging that she was fired over liking a post about a ceasefire in Gaza and that Mark Ruffalo ignored her when she tried reaching out to him because they shared the same agent.
The 52-year-old actress recently responded in the comments section on a video shared by Mark that features him talking about and promoting the new film Palestine 36.
According to screenshots shared by Entertainment Weekly, Kate called out Mark over leaving her hanging when she reached out to him after allegedly being fired for liking a post about the Gaza ceasefire.
“It must be so nice not to be fired by your Agent for liking a post about a ceasefire and not supporting the murdering of children,” she wrote.

“I guess having a penis in Hollywood really counts for a lot because you’ve not been fired by the same Agent that I had and she sent me a gift the week before so we didn’t have any beef, but I liked a post about a ceasefire and I’ve got fired on the same day as Susan Sarandon was fired, two days after the end of the strike after nine months of none of us being able to work at all,” Kate claimed. Susan has also talked about being blacklisted in Hollywood over her outspoken advocacy.
By strike, she is likely referring to the Screen Actors Guild strike that went from July to November 2023.
The Love & Friendship star went on to say that she had been struggling at the time of her firing because she had just learned her mother, Judy Loe, only “had six weeks to live with brain cancer,” and her stepfather, Roy Battersby, recently had a “catastrophic stroke on top of two types of cancer” and she was the “carer for both of them.”
Kate continued, saying the stroke and cancer led to Roy‘s death, “I was preparing to fly to England to bring him back so that I could take full care of him and I was fired in two sentences after 12 years of friendship with my Agent and yours who is very close to her elderly parents and definitely knew what I was dealing with, alone.”
While she did not name the agent, she did also add that she reportedly attempted to DM Mark “about this months ago,” but he ignored her.
In a follow-up comment, she said she was okay with him ignoring her as she felt it was just “male privilege,” which can be found “even in the good guys.”
The Underworld actress went on to write, “It is such a given that of course I did not get a response and I really and truly support Mark Ruffalo and everything he is doing but no I@will [sic] not get a response not here and not ever,” asserting that she “sent a message to Mark months ago and he ignored it. There is absolutely no reason why he would respond to it now.”
In the end she said she doesn’t blame him, but it’s something that she has generally been “noticing.”
A few months ago, Kate shared an emotional message about body shaming and how it has impacted her.
