“You have no idea what you’re dealing with. What she’s capable of…” She’s a mom with seriously deadly skills! Magenta Light Studios has revealed an official trailer for Protector, another very bland new action thriller, this time directed by genre filmmaker Adrian Grunberg. This is scheduled for a theatrical debut in theaters starting in late February coming up next year. Former war hero Nikki’s peaceful life is shattered when her daughter is kidnapped. Thrust into the criminal underworld while hunted by cops and military, she must fight to rescue her child. This is the same exact generic, easy-to-sell plot that so many other action movies have these days. Just rinse & reuse because they don’t know how to write anything new. Protector stars Milla Jovovich as Nikki, Isabel Myers, Manny Montana, Michael Stahl-David, Lydia Hull, D.B. Sweeney, Chase E. Kim, Don Harvey, Gabriel Sloyer, Texas Battle, and Arica Himmel, with Matthew Modine. The footage is so dark and so poorly lit that I can’t see anything in it. Ugh it looks bad.

Protector is directed by genre filmmaker Adrian Grunberg, director of Get the Gringo, Rambo: Last Blood, The Black Demon previously, and series “Bandidos” & “The Gringo Hunters” most recently. The screenplay is written by Bong-Seob Mun. It’s produced by Matthew Helderman, Ford Corbett, Todd Lundbohm, George Furla, Arianne Fraser, Shaun Sanghani, Kenneth Kim, Ho-Sung Pak, Bob Yari, Bong Seob Mun, Bang Ok Joo, Ceasar Richbow, Paul W.S.
