Netflix Getting Multiple AMC Shows Including ‘Interview With The Vampire’, ‘Preacher’, ‘Fear The Walking Dead’
Netflix in the United States is about to receive a slew of AMC shows that will soon join the platform, with highlights including Interview with the Vampire and Fear The Walking Dead, among other titles.
The deal sounds similar to the one Max announced in August 2023 last year, in which it bought several shows from that streamer for a limited period. That period was only two months, and all those titles were available from September 1st to their removal in November 2023. Titles that streamed on Max during this period included Interview with the Vampire, Dark Winds, Gangs of London, Killing Eve, Fear the Walking Dead, A Discovery of Witches, and Ride with Norman Reedus.
We don’t have a release date for these titles on Netflix US, nor do we know if other regions will be lucky enough to receive them. Likewise, it’s unclear whether it’s a very short-term deal like Max had late last year. We have contacted Netflix for more details and will update you once we have more.
What shows are coming to Netflix? Here’s a look at the ones we know about so far:
AMC Shows Confirmed to Come to Netflix US
Preacher
This supernatural series, which ran for four seasons, was developed by Sam Catlin, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen based on the DC comic book series and starred Dominic Cooper, Joseph Gilgun, and Ruth Negga.
We should note that several international regions picked up Reacher over the past year. This includes Netflix in France, Germany, India, Italy, and Switzerland, according to Unogs.
Fear The Walking Dead
Serving as one of the many spin-offs AMC has now produced for The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead initially served as a prequel to the franchise before crossing over with the main show in later seasons.
The series ran for eight seasons, with 113 episodes under its belt in all. Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Elizabeth Rodriguez are among the cast.
Into the Badlands
Into the Badlands, the excellent sci-fi martial arts series has been on Netflix before, with new seasons coming to Netflix shortly after their premiere on AMC. After the show ended, the series’ time on Netflix eventually came to an end in November 2023, with all three seasons leaving the service.
Now, all 32 episodes of the series created by Alfred Gough (who is working on Netflix’s Wednesday series) and Miles Millar is scheduled to return.
Headlined by Daniel Wu, the series also starred Orla Brady, Sarah Bolger, and Aramis Knight.
Monsieur Spade
The newest confirmed show set to arrive on Netflix as part of this AMC deal is Monsieur Spade, a miniseries created by Scott Frank (The Godless, The Queen’s Gambit) with Clive Owen starring.
Set in the early 1960s, the series follows Detective Sam Spade enjoying a slower, peaceful life in Bozouls, France, with that tranquility shattered when six beloved nuns are brutally murdered at the local convent.
Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire
One of the shows that hit Max last year and will be coming to Netflix is Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, the gothic horror series starring Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Eric Bogosian, and Bailey Bass.
The series, which recently aired its second season on AMC, focuses on the life story of vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac.
The addition of these shows continues Netflix’s increasing appetite for getting licensed content onto its service in the United States and worldwide as it looks to increase time spent on the service for its increasingly important advertising tier.
These shows will join the already available collection of AMC titles on Netflix. Earlier this year, the BBC/AMC co-distributed title Killing Eve joined Netflix in the United States, with all four seasons due to remain on Netflix through October 2025.
Netflix is also the home to every season of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, plus it will remain the streaming home for every season of The Walking Dead, which has 177 episodes on Netflix through 2027.
