New York City is the epicenter of style every day of the year, but during New York Fashion Week, the flair of the city is on full display. This season, Fall/Winter 2026, was cold. Even with brief sun breaks, the shows across Manhattan and Brooklyn meant the coats and accessories were the whole look.
In front of some of the most exciting shows of the season, including Rachel Scott’s debut at Proenza Schouler, Collina Strada, Calvin Klein, and more, our street style photographer, Emily Malan, spotted more than just fashion. Yes, there were incredible bags, jewelry, hairpins, and great coats, but there were also many political statements. Akin to what actors wore on the red carpets this award season, many attendees opted for ICE OUT pins, which are part of an ACLU-endorsed campaign to bring attention to the increased presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the United States.
Ahead, see all of the moments we spotted outside of the shows at New York Fashion Week.
