1. GloRilla and Mustard to play in 2026 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

GloRilla and Mustard are set to take the court at the 2026 Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, scheduled for February 13 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The annual showcase will once again bring together musicians, entertainers, athletes, and digital creators, with tickets already available via Ticketmaster and additional roster announcements expected in the coming weeks. GloRilla, who previously performed at the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, will now make her Celebrity Game debut, adding to the growing crossover between hip-hop and All-Star Weekend festivities.

Los Angeles native Mustard will also make his first appearance in the Celebrity Game, arriving amid a well-documented fitness transformation that has seen the Grammy-winning producer drop significant weight in recent years. Best known for hits including “Not Like Us,” Mustard has long been tied to basketball culture, having curated the NBA 2K16 soundtrack alongside DJ Premier and DJ Khaled. Last year’s Celebrity Game featured stars such as Shaboozey, Kai Cenat, Druski, and Terrell Owens, with 2 Chainz and Jerry Rice serving as coaches. The Celebrity Game tips off a packed All-Star Weekend, which culminates with the revamped U.S. vs. World NBA All-Star Game on February 15 at the Intuit Dome.

2. Asake extends his record as the artist with the most entries in Billboard Afrobeats Songs chart

Nigerian singer Asake has extended his record as the artist with the most entries in Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart history, reaching a new milestone of 60 entries. The latest boost comes from his collaboration with Wizkid, “Jogodo,” which climbed to a peak of No. 4 on this week’s chart. The achievement further cements Asake’s position as one of Afrobeats’ most consistent global hitmakers, following a run of charting singles that have defined his rapid rise on the international stage.

Elsewhere on the chart, South African star Tyla continued her dominance as “Chanel” held firm at No. 1, following her recognition as the top Afrobeats artist of 2025. Her breakout hit “Water” previously set the record for the longest-running No. 1 song on the chart, spending 55 weeks at the summit. In related Billboard news, Burna Boy secured his first top 20 entry on the Billboard Hot 100, with his feature on Gunna’s “WGFT” reaching a new peak of No. 16 after the release of a remix featuring Chris Brown, making him the first African artist to debut a Hot 100 entry in five consecutive years from 2021 to 2025.

3. Rep. Ilhan Omar sprayed with mystery liquid at Town Hall

Rep. Ilhan Omar was sprayed with an unknown liquid during a town hall meeting in her Minneapolis district Tuesday night after a man rushed the podium while she was speaking. Minneapolis police said the suspect used a syringe to spray the substance at the congresswoman, causing shock and confusion among attendees as the incident unfolded on camera. The disruption occurred shortly after Omar criticized U.S. immigration enforcement policies, calling for the abolishment of ICE and urging the resignation or impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Security quickly intervened, tackling the suspect and removing him from the room as forensic teams were called in to test the liquid.

The man, identified by police as 55-year-old Anthony Kazmierczak, was arrested and booked into Hennepin County Jail on a third-degree assault charge. Omar’s office later confirmed she was not seriously harmed and declined medical treatment, choosing instead to continue the town hall despite recommendations from local officials to end the event. Addressing the crowd, Omar said she would not allow intimidation to silence her, telling constituents, “We are Minnesota strong,” and thanking them for their support. The incident comes amid heightened concern over the safety of lawmakers, following a recent attack on Rep. Maxwell Frost of Florida, underscoring what advocates say is a growing pattern of harassment and violence targeting outspoken elected officials of color.

4. Ray J says he has only a short time left to live, as his health is failing

Ray J has alarmed fans after revealing that his health is rapidly deteriorating, claiming doctors are uncertain he will live to see 2027. The rapper and reality TV star shared the update in a candid social media post following a recent hospitalization, telling followers bluntly that “2027 is definitely a wrap for me.” In the video, Ray J said physicians delivered the grim outlook, despite encouragement from friends to remain positive, and suggested years of heavy drinking and partying have taken a severe toll on his body.

The singer said his heart is currently functioning at just 25 percent capacity, a condition he attributes to a lifestyle that once made him feel “invincible” but has since caught up with him. Ray J also disclosed plans to travel to Haiti in the coming weeks in what he described as a last effort to find life-saving treatment, despite ongoing instability in the country and U.S. travel warnings. He closed the message by thanking his parents and his sister, Brandy, whom he said has been supporting him financially. The revelation comes weeks after Ray J was hospitalized in Las Vegas with severe pneumonia and heart pain, marking another serious health scare in recent years.

5. Neymar joined by partner Bruna Biancardi and their two children on return to Santos training

Neymar has returned to training with Santos following his latest injury lay-off. His partner Bruna Biancardi and their two children joining him on the training ground in heartwarming scenes shared by the club. Daughter Mavie stole the spotlight as she playfully helped her father during the session, as the Brazilian star steps up his recovery from knee surgery. Neymar recently extended his contract with his boyhood club through to the end of 2026 and is edging closer to a long-awaited return after undergoing surgery in December.

The forward had played through pain late last season to help Santos avoid relegation before going under the knife, and he is now gradually increasing his workload as he targets a comeback. Club president Marcelo Teixeira said Neymar should be back “soon,” though no exact return date has been set. Beyond club football, Neymar will be eager to prove his fitness ahead of the 2026 World Cup, having not featured for Brazil since 2023, with national team boss Carlo Ancelotti previously stressing that the superstar must demonstrate he is in peak physical condition to earn a place in the squad.
