Rose Byrne made an elegant fashion statement at Sunday’s 2026 Academy Awards red carpet in Los Angeles with a Dior gown. Byrne is nominated for best actress in a leading role for her performance in “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.”

Byrne modeled a strapless black dress with a swirling floral design enlivened with jewelry-like embellishments; the romantic design was done in soft pastel hues, which stood out against the dark backdrop. The dress hugged her form, then flared into a skirt which pooled on the ground. Byrne wore a statement accessory as well, a Taffin by James De Givenchy necklace with a yellow diamond. Meanwhile, her hair was styled back in a low bun while a red lip brought a flash of bold color to her look.

The actress’ style can range from classic elegance to modern flair. Byrne wore an Armani Privé black suit look at the National Board of Review Gala in January, an ensemble including tapered pants, a subtly sparkling jacket, a sheer top and a velvet bowtie. She modeled a unique two-piece Prada look at the “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” premiere at the Berlinale International Film Festival last year, showcasing a high-waisted black skirt and a crop top featuring silvery discs. For her first time attending the Oscars in 2012, she wore a black sequined Vivienne Westwood gown.

The 2026 Academy Awards honor the best films of 2025 from “One Battle After Another” to “Hamnet” and more. Hosted by Conan O’Brien, who returns for a second consecutive year as master of ceremonies, the awards show takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. “Sinners” leads the night’s nominations, with a record-setting 16 nods including Best Picture. The 2026 Oscars air Sunday night at 7 p.m. ET on ABC and Hulu.
